DARSHANA CINEMA SOCIETY



Darshana Cinema Society 


Darshana Cinema Society is an organization dedicated to the study, exhibition and production of cinema. During the year 2010 Darshana Cinema society conducted two Major events.  First one was a Short film Festival on 4.11.2010 at ECA auditorium, Bangalore  and was inaugurated by well known cinema actor and producer Prakash Bare.

15 films from across the country and Srilanka were screened and the event was well appreciated by the viewers

From July to September, darshana cinema society has conducted works shops for various subjects related to Cinema.  The works shop was inaugurated by Chairman of the  Karnataka Film Academy Shri T.S.Nagabharana in the presence of Shri H.N.Narahari Rao (President, Federation of Film societies of India).

The classes and demonstrations of the workshops were conducted by  Shri H.N.Narahari Rao on “History iof Moving Images”. Classes were taken by Shri Abhaya Simha (National Award Winner for best children’s film) on sceipt and direction.  He has also directed a film in Malayalam & Kannada starring  Mammootty in the lead role in both the languages Director), Shri Jimmy Luke (Director, Films division of India).

 Classes on Photography and Editing were conducted by Dr Murali Krishna (Well known writer and Film Expert and Director of the first ever Serial of Malayalam Language and many short films and a well known authority  of technical writing on cinema).
